Chris Downey founded DH Yacht Sales with a singular mission: to become the go-to authority in custom Carolina sportfishing boats and luxury vessels. After years of success in the industry, Chris opened his own brokerage in 2021, fulfilling a lifelong dream driven by decades of knowledge and hands-on experience on the water. With deep roots in the Carolinas, Chris brings unmatched expertise across custom sportfishing vessels, Viking builds, premium center consoles, and motor vessels up to 150 feet.

A U.S. Navy Veteran, Chris's service instilled the discipline, precision, and integrity that define every transaction at DH Yacht Sales. Clients rely on him for clear, honest guidance, strategic negotiation, and mission-focused execution from listing to closing. His expertise spans custom Carolina builders including Spencer Yachts, Bayliss Boatworks, Scarborough, F&S, and Blackwell — understanding hull design, cold-molded construction, tournament functionality, and long-term ownership considerations that only come from decades of real-world experience.

Between selling some of the finest boats ever built, Chris still finds time to get offshore himself, competing in tournaments such as the White Marlin Open, Mid-Atlantic, Custom Shootout, White Marlin Round Up, and the Bermuda Series.
